Getting There

Car
From Dushanbe, head south on the M41 highway towards Qurghonteppa. After approximately 80 kilometers, take the exit towards the A372 road (to Kulob). Continue on A372 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Sizhd, which is marked near the town of Vahdat. Turn left onto the local road leading to Sizhd. Follow the signs and local directions, as the roads can be unmarked. After about 15 kilometers, you will arrive at Sizhd (MQ3R+R3X).

Public Transportation
From the main bus station in Dushanbe, take a marshrutka (minibus) headed towards Qurghonteppa. The fare is approximately 10 TJS. Upon arrival in Qurghonteppa, transfer to another marshrutka that goes to Kulob and request a stop at Sizhd or the nearest point on A372. The total journey may take about 2-3 hours, depending on waiting times and traffic. Be sure to have some local currency (TJS) ready for bus fares.

You can hire a taxi directly from Dushanbe to Sizhd. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should be around 300-400 TJS for a one-way trip. The taxi will take you directly to Sizhd, which is about a 1.5-hour drive depending on traffic conditions. Ensure you confirm that the driver knows the destination well, as some may not be familiar with smaller towns.
