If you are traveling by car, start from Khorugh, the capital of Gorno-Badakhshan. Head west on A-371 towards Eshkashem. The drive takes about 2 hours (approximately 70 km). As you approach Eshkashem, look for the signs directing you towards Yamchun Fort. The fort is located about 15 km from Eshkashem. Turn left onto a smaller road marked with local signage towards Yamchun. The fort is situated on a hilltop, and you will need to drive up the winding road to reach the parking area near the entrance.

To reach Yamchun Fort using public transportation, start at the Khorugh bus station. Take a shared taxi (marshrutka) heading to Eshkashem. The ride takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, and you should expect to pay around 30-50 TJS.
