    If you are traveling by car, start from Khorugh, the capital of Gorno-Badakhshan. Head west on A-371 towards Eshkashem. The drive takes about 2 hours (approximately 70 km). As you approach Eshkashem, look for the signs directing you towards Yamchun Fort. The fort is located about 15 km from Eshkashem. Turn left onto a smaller road marked with local signage towards Yamchun. The fort is situated on a hilltop, and you will need to drive up the winding road to reach the parking area near the entrance.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Yamchun Fort using public transportation, start at the Khorugh bus station. Take a shared taxi (marshrutka) heading to Eshkashem. The ride takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, and you should expect to pay around 30-50 TJS. Once you arrive in Eshkashem, you can either hire a local taxi to take you to Yamchun Fort (approximately 15 km away) or ask locals for assistance with shared taxis heading in that direction.
