Walking
From the center of Arusha, head towards the Arusha Central Market. Once you reach the market, look for the signs directing you to the 'Arusha National Park' shuttle pickup point. The walk should take approximately 20-30 minutes. At the shuttle pickup point, you can find shared taxis (dala-dalas) that will take you directly to the park entrance.
Dala-Dala (Shared Taxi)
Head to the main dala-dala station located near the Arusha Central Market. Look for a dala-dala heading to 'Momella' or 'Arusha National Park'. The fare is usually around TZS 1,500 to TZS 2,000. The journey takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Inform the conductor of your destination, and they will notify you when to disembark at the park gate.
Bicycle Rental
You can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Arusha, such as 'Arusha Biking' located near the Cultural Heritage Centre. Once you have a bicycle, head towards the east on Old Moshi Road. Follow the road signs towards Arusha National Park. The ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your speed. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
Motorbike Taxi (Boda Boda)
Find a boda boda (motorbike taxi) near the central market or your accommodation. Negotiate the fare to Arusha National Park, which should be around TZS 15,000 to TZS 25,000. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to wear a helmet and ensure the driver is reputable.
