Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Iringa, near the Clock Tower. Head southeast on Main Street (Mkwawa Road) for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the road leading to the University of Iringa. Turn right onto this road and continue for about 500 meters. You will see a sign for Magic Site Mkwawa on your left. Follow this road for another 200 meters until you reach the entrance to the site.

  • Bicycle

    From the Iringa bus stand, rent a bicycle from one of the local vendors. Cycle along Nelson Mandela Road heading south until you reach the junction with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street (Mkwawa Road) and continue for about 1 kilometer. At the junction with the University of Iringa road, turn right and bike for another 500 meters. Look for the sign for Magic Site Mkwawa on your left, and you will find the entrance after another 200 meters.

  • Public Transportation

    From the central market in Iringa, catch a local 'dala dala' (mini bus) heading towards the University of Iringa. The fare is usually very cheap, about 500 TZS. Inform the conductor that you want to go to Magic Site Mkwawa. Once you arrive at the University area, disembark and walk back about 200 meters towards the sign for Magic Site Mkwawa on your left. Follow the path for another 200 meters until you reach the entrance.
