Getting There

Walking
From the center of Iringa, start at the Iringa Bus Stand. Head south on the main road (Uhuru Road) for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and local eateries. Continue until you reach the junction with Mkwawa Road. Turn left onto Mkwawa Road and continue for approximately 2 kilometers. After passing the Iringa University on your right, you will reach a T-junction. Turn right onto the road heading towards Mseke (this road may not have a sign, but locals will know it). Walk straight for about 5 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views. You will notice signs leading towards the Isimila Stone Age Site. As you approach Mseke, keep an eye out for the signposts directing you to the site, located roughly 1 kilometer from the main road. The site will be on your left.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Iringa Bus Stand. Ride south along Uhuru Road for about 1 kilometer, passing shops and cafes. When you reach the junction with Mkwawa Road, turn left. Continue riding on Mkwawa Road for around 2 kilometers. After passing Iringa University, turn right at the T-junction onto the road heading toward Mseke. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers, enjoying the beautiful countryside. Look out for signs pointing towards the Isimila Stone Age Site as you approach Mseke. The site will be located about 1 kilometer down the road on your left.

Public Transport (Daladala)
From the center of Iringa, take a daladala (minibus taxi) heading to Mseke. You can catch these daladalas from the Iringa Bus Stand. Inform the conductor that you are going to Isimila, and they will let you know when to get off. The ride should take about 30 minutes. Get off at the Mseke junction, where you can follow the signs to Isimila Stone Age Site, which is about a 1-kilometer walk from the drop-off point. If unsure, ask locals for directions, as the site is a popular tourist attraction.
