    Getting There

    Car

    If you are driving from Lushoto, head east on the B1 road towards Mombo for about 30 km. Once you reach Mombo, turn onto the A7 road heading towards Mgwashi. Continue on this road for approximately 23 km until you reach Mgwashi. The Mazumbai Forest is located just outside Mgwashi; you can follow the signs or use GPS coordinates 5GF4+HF2 to arrive at the forest entrance. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for the sometimes rough roads, especially after rain.

    Public Transportation

    To reach Mazumbai Forest using public transportation, start from Lushoto. Take a daladala (shared minibus) heading towards Mombo. This ride will cost around 2000 TZS and takes about 45 minutes. Upon reaching Mombo, transfer to another daladala heading to Mgwashi, which will cost an additional 2000 TZS and take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Mgwashi, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to reach the Mazumbai Forest entrance, which is about 5 km away.

    Walking

    From Mgwashi village, if you prefer to walk, head north towards the Mazumbai Forest. Follow the dirt path that leads into the forest area. It is about a 5 km walk, which will take you roughly 1 to 1.5 hours. Ensure you have a map or ask locals for directions, as signage may not be prominent.
