Car Rental
If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car from one of the rental agencies in Stone Town. Head out on the A1 road towards the southern part of the island. As you drive, enjoy the scenic coastal views. Continue on the A1 for approximately 30 km (about 45 minutes) until you reach the signs for Menai Bay. Look for the turn-off to the east, which leads you directly towards the bay area. Ensure you have a map or GPS device, as some roads can be less well-marked.

Public Transportation (Dala Dala)
To reach Menai Bay via public transport, take a Dala Dala (shared minibus) from the Dala Dala station in Stone Town. Look for the buses marked for either 'Mtwapa' or 'Kizimkazi'. The fare is very economical, typically around 2,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings). The journey will take about 1.5 hours. Get off at the Kizimkazi stop and from there, you can either walk (about 15-20 minutes) towards Menai Bay or negotiate a taxi (approximately 10,000 TZS) to take you directly to the bay.
