Ferry and Bus
From Zanzibar City, head to the ferry terminal located at the Stone Town waterfront. Buy a ticket for a ferry to Dar es Salaam. The ferry ride takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Dar es Salaam ferry terminal, exit and head to the main bus terminal, which is a short taxi ride away. Look for buses heading to Mikumi National Park or Morogoro, as they pass near Nyerere National Park. The bus journey will take approximately 5-6 hours. Inform the bus conductor that you are heading to Nyerere National Park, and he will help you with the stop. Once you get off, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a pick-up from a lodge nearby.

Flight and Transfer
From Zanzibar City, take a domestic flight from Zanzibar Airport to Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam. Once you land, you can either take a taxi or arrange for a transfer to a bus terminal. At the bus terminal, find a bus heading to Morogoro or Mikumi National Park, which will take about 5-6 hours. Again, inform the conductor that you are heading to Nyerere National Park. After reaching the designated stop, you will need to hire a taxi to take you directly to the park entrance.
