Boat
To reach the Prison on Changu Island, start from the Stone Town area of Zanzibar City. Head to the main waterfront near the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) where you can find the boat docks. Look for the boats heading to Changu Island (also known as Prison Island). The journey usually takes about 30 minutes. Ensure you ask the boat operator to take you directly to the Prison Island. Once you arrive at Changu Island, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the Prison, which is a short walk from the dock.

Once you arrive on Changu Island, disembark from the boat and head towards the main path that leads to the Prison. The path is well-marked and takes you through beautiful scenery. It's a short walk of approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the Prison. Enjoy the views of the coastline as you walk along the path.
