Snooper's Rock: A Scenic Gem Overlooking Chattanooga

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Chattanooga Valley. Head northwest on Main St toward Highway 27. Merge onto Highway 27 N, and continue for about 8 miles. Take the exit for Signal Mountain Rd and turn left at the traffic light. Follow Signal Mountain Rd for approximately 5 miles until you reach Game Reserve Rd. Turn right onto Game Reserve Rd. Follow this road for about 1 mile until you reach the parking area for Snooper's Rock. Be aware that some parts of Game Reserve Rd might be unpaved or narrow, so drive carefully.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you will first need to take the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) bus. Start by catching the bus from the nearest stop in Chattanooga Valley to Downtown Chattanooga, typically on Main St. Once in Downtown, transfer to the 4A bus route heading towards Signal Mountain. After about 30 minutes, get off at the nearest stop to Signal Mountain Rd. From there, you will need to either walk about 1 mile along Signal Mountain Rd to Game Reserve Rd or arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to take you directly to Snooper's Rock.

• Bicycle

  If you're an adventurous cyclist, you can also bike to Snooper's Rock. Start from the center of Chattanooga Valley and take the same route as if you were driving. Use the bike lane on Main St and follow the same path onto Highway 27 N. Once you reach Signal Mountain Rd, there are bike-friendly routes that can take you toward Game Reserve Rd. Be cautious as some roads may not have designated bike lanes. Ensure you have proper biking gear, and it might take around 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on your speed.
