Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in Old City, start at the intersection of East Jackson Avenue and South Central Street. Head south on South Central Street for about three blocks until you reach West Main Street. Turn left onto West Main Street and continue for about two blocks. You will then reach the intersection with South Gay Street. Turn right onto South Gay Street, and after a short walk (about one block), turn left onto West Summit Hill Drive. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with South Main Street. The Craighead-Jackson House is located at 600 Main St SW, just ahead on your left. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

• Public Transit

  For those preferring to use public transit, you can take the Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) bus system. Locate the nearest bus stop in Old City, such as the stop at South Central Street and East Jackson Avenue. Check the KAT schedule for the bus route that services Main Street. Take the bus that heads toward the Downtown area. After a couple of stops (usually around 3-5 minutes), disembark at the Main Street stop. From there, it's just a short walk to 600 Main St SW, where the Craighead-Jackson House is located. The bus fare is typically around $1.00 per ride.
