If you are driving to the James White Fort Association, start by navigating to Knoxville, TN. From Interstate 40, take Exit 388A for US-441 S toward Knoxville. Continue on US-441 S, which will become Gay Street in downtown Knoxville. Follow Gay Street and turn left onto E Hill Ave. James White Fort will be on your right at 205 E Hill Ave, Knoxville, TN 37915. There is limited street parking available, and be sure to check for any parking fees in the area.

For those using public transportation, the Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) buses can take you close to the James White Fort. Check the KAT website for routes that service downtown Knoxville. The closest bus stop is at the corner of E Hill Ave and S Gay St. From the bus stop, it’s a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) to the fort, which is located at 205 E Hill Ave. Be sure to have exact change or a KAT pass for the bus fare.
