Walking
If you're already in Midtown, the easiest way to reach the Memphis Zoo is by walking. From the intersection of Central Avenue and Cooper Street, head west on Central Avenue. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles. You will see the entrance to the Memphis Zoo on your left at 2000 Prentiss Pl. The walk should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace.
Public Bus
You can also take the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) bus. If you are near the Cooper-Young area, catch the #34 bus heading towards the Zoo. The bus stop is located on Cooper Street near the intersection with Young Avenue. The fare is $1.00 for a single ride. Stay on the bus until it reaches the stop at the Memphis Zoo. The zoo is located directly across the street from the bus stop. The total journey may take around 20-30 minutes.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing services available in Midtown. Head south on Cooper Street and make your way to Prentiss Place.
