Walking
Start at the center of Murfreesboro, specifically at the Murfreesboro Square. From there, head southeast on S Main St toward E Church St. Continue walking straight for about 1 mile until you reach E State St. Turn right onto E State St and follow it for approximately 2 miles until you reach the intersection with S Rutherford Blvd. Cross over S Rutherford Blvd to continue straight onto Old Nashville Hwy. Follow Old Nashville Hwy for about 2.5 miles, then turn left onto Powers Bridge Rd. Chumbley Woods Trail will be on your right at 339 Powers Bridge Rd. The total walking distance is about 5.5 miles.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, start at the Murfreesboro Square and take S Main St heading southeast. After about 1 mile, turn right on E State St and continue for 2 miles until you reach S Rutherford Blvd. Cross over and go straight onto Old Nashville Hwy. Continue for approximately 2.5 miles, then take a left onto Powers Bridge Rd. The Chumbley Woods Trail is located at 339 Powers Bridge Rd, just a short ride from there. The biking route is approximately 5.5 miles.
Public Transportation
Begin at the Murfreesboro Transit Center located downtown. Take the Route 1 bus heading towards the Southside. Ride the bus for about 20 minutes, and get off at the Old Nashville Hwy stop. From there, walk about 15 minutes down Old Nashville Hwy towards Powers Bridge Rd. Turn left onto Powers Bridge Rd, and Chumbley Woods Trail will be about a quarter-mile down the road on your right at 339 Powers Bridge Rd. Be sure to check the local transit schedule for the most accurate departure times.
