Car
If you are driving from Johnson City, TN, take I-26 E toward Elizabethton. Continue on I-26 E for about 20 miles. Take exit 24 for TN-67 toward Elizabethton. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto TN-67 W and follow it for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with US-19E. Turn right onto US-19E N and continue for approximately 7 miles. When you reach Elizabethton, turn left onto E Elk Ave, then another left onto S Sycamore St, and finally a right onto Blue Hole Rd. Follow Blue Hole Rd until you reach the parking area for Blue Hole, which is located at the end of the road. Parking is free.

Public Transportation
To reach Blue Hole via public transportation, you can take a bus from Johnson City to Elizabethton. The Johnson City Transit offers routes that connect to Elizabethton. Once you arrive in Elizabethton, you will need to use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach Blue Hole, as public transport does not go directly to the site. The rideshare will take you to the parking area on Blue Hole Rd. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited, especially on weekends.

If you prefer biking, you can ride from Johnson City to Blue Hole. Take the same route as you would by car via I-26 E to exit 24 for TN-67. From there, you can ride along US-19E N to Elizabethton. It’s approximately a 15-mile ride and can be enjoyed on a nice day. Ensure you have a bike lock to secure your bike at the parking area.
