Getting There

  • Public Bus

    Start at the downtown area of Austin. Head to the nearest MetroRapid bus stop and take the MetroRapid Route 803 towards the North. Ride for about 20 minutes and get off at the 'West 15th St & Morrow St' stop. From there, transfer to Bus 21 towards 'North Lamar & 183'. Ride for another 15 minutes and get off at the 'MoPac Expressway & 35th St' stop. Walk approximately 15 minutes north on MoPac Blvd until you reach Mt Bonnell. The trailhead will be on your right.

  • Bicycle

    If you're in the downtown area, rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing services. Head west on 5th St towards Lamar Blvd. Turn right onto Lamar Blvd and continue until you reach 35th St. Turn left on 35th St. Continue riding until you reach the MoPac Expressway. Mt Bonnell will be on your left. Follow the signs to the parking area and trailhead.

    If you are near the University of Texas at Austin, start by walking north on Guadalupe St. Continue until you reach 35th St and turn right. Follow 35th St until you reach MoPac Blvd. Turn left on MoPac and walk until you see the trailhead for Mt Bonnell on your right. The walk will take approximately 45 minutes.
