If you are already in Davis Mountains State Park, start at the park entrance located on Texas Highway 118. Drive south on TX-118 for approximately 4.5 miles until you reach the junction with Madera Canyon Road. Turn left onto Madera Canyon Road and continue for about 1 mile. The Madera Canyon Trail Parking area will be on your right. Look for the roadside park sign.
Public Transportation
Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Madera Canyon Trail Parking. However, you can take a shuttle or taxi service from nearby towns such as Fort Davis. If you are in Fort Davis, you can call a local taxi service to arrange for a ride to Madera Canyon. The distance from Fort Davis to Madera Canyon Trail Parking is about 11 miles, and the ride should take approximately 15-20 minutes. Please check with local services for availability and costs.
