Public Bus
Start at the El Paso International Airport or any central location in El Paso. Board the Route 50 bus towards the Sun Metro Transfer Center. Once you arrive at the Transfer Center, switch to the Route 14 bus heading toward the Westside. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at N. Mesa St and Tom Mays Park Access Rd. From there, walk approximately 0.5 miles north on Tom Mays Park Access Rd to reach the entrance of Franklin Mountains State Park.
Bicycle
If you are starting in downtown El Paso, you can rent a bicycle from a local bike-sharing program. Head west on Missouri Ave until you reach N. Mesa St. Turn right onto N. Mesa St and continue to follow it as it curves toward Tom Mays Park Access Rd. Once you reach Tom Mays Park Access Rd, continue north until you arrive at the entrance of Franklin Mountains State Park. The total distance is about 8 miles and offers a scenic route.
Walking
If you are near the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), you can begin your walk by heading west on University Ave until you reach N. Mesa St. Turn left on N. Mesa St and continue walking until you reach Tom Mays Park Access Rd. Turn right onto Tom Mays Park Access Rd and walk north for about 1 mile to reach the entrance of Franklin Mountains State Park. This route is approximately 3 miles long and provides beautiful views along the way.
