Getting There

Public Bus
Start at the El Paso Downtown Transit Terminal located at 600 W. San Antonio Ave. From there, take the Route 33 bus heading towards the Westside. You will need to ride this bus until you reach the stop at Doniphan Dr and Sunland Park Dr. This journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off, walk north on Doniphan Dr for about 0.6 miles until you reach the intersection with Sunland Park Dr. At this point, you can either walk to Mount Cristo Rey, which will be approximately another 1.5 miles northeast, or you can take a rideshare service to the entrance of the Mount Cristo Rey trail.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing services available in downtown El Paso. Start at the El Paso Downtown Transit Terminal and head west on the paved bike lanes of San Antonio Ave. Continue until you reach Doniphan Dr, then turn left (south) and follow Doniphan Dr for about 3 miles. You will need to navigate towards Sunland Park Dr, where you will find bike paths that take you closer to Mount Cristo Rey. The total distance is approximately 5 miles and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.

If you are up for a longer walk, you can start from the El Paso Downtown area. Head northwest on N Santa Fe St towards W Main Dr. Continue on N Santa Fe St, then take a left onto W Main Dr. Follow the road until it curves into Doniphan Dr and continue walking for about 3.5 miles. Once you reach the intersection with Sunland Park Dr, you can either continue walking east along the road for another 1.5 miles or catch a rideshare service to the entrance of the Mount Cristo Rey trail. The total distance from downtown to Mount Cristo Rey is about 5 miles and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours on foot.
