Getting There

• Public Transit

  To reach the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library from Irving, head to the nearest DART Light Rail station, which is the 'Irving Convention Center' station. Board the Orange Line train heading towards 'Parker Road'. Stay on the train for about 30 minutes and get off at 'Akard Station'. After exiting the station, walk east on Main Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach Young Street, then turn left. Continue walking for another 0.1 miles, and you will find the library at 1515 Young St.

  From Irving, you can take DART Bus Route 408 from the 'Irving Mall' stop. This bus route will take you to the 'West End Station' in Dallas. Once you arrive at West End Station, transfer to the DART Light Rail, and take the Green Line towards 'DFW Airport' for two stops, getting off at 'Akard Station'. After exiting, walk east on Main Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach Young Street, then turn left. The library will be on your left at 1515 Young St.

  If you enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike share program in Irving. Start your journey towards Dallas by heading east on Las Colinas Boulevard. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Mockingbird Lane. Turn left on Mockingbird and ride until you reach the Trinity River Trail. Follow the trail north until it leads you into downtown Dallas. Once you reach downtown, navigate towards Young Street. The library is located at 1515 Young St.

  For those who prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route starting from the 'Irving Heritage Park'. Head southeast on Main Street towards the intersection with Irving Blvd. Cross the street and continue walking along Main Street until you reach the DART 'Irving Convention Center' station. From there, you can catch a DART train to 'Akard Station', then walk east on Main Street to Young Street and turn left to find the library at 1515 Young St.
