Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Walking
If you are at the Ayutthaya Historical Park, exit the park and head east towards Naresuan Road. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the junction with Phu Khao Thong Road. Turn left onto Phu Khao Thong Road and walk straight for approximately 10 minutes. Wat Phukhao Thong will be on your right, just past the intersection with the road leading to the temple entrance.
Tuk-Tuk
Find a tuk-tuk stand near your location, such as outside the Ayutthaya Historical Park or any popular tourist area. Negotiate a fare with the driver to Wat Phukhao Thong, specifying the destination clearly. The ride should take about 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of the temple.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Ayutthaya, typically found near the Historical Park or the train station. Once you have your bicycle, head east on Naresuan Road for about 1 kilometer, then turn left onto Phu Khao Thong Road. Continue cycling straight for another kilometer and you will see Wat Phukhao Thong on your right. There is usually parking available for bicycles at the temple.
Boat
If you are near the river, look for local boat services that operate along the Chao Phraya River. You can take a boat to the nearest pier and then walk to Wat Phukhao Thong. It's advisable to check the boat schedules in advance, and you may need to ask locals for the best landing point to access the temple.
