Getting There

Car
From the main entrance of Doi Inthanon National Park, drive towards the Doi Inthanon summit road. Follow the signs leading to the summit and continue for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for the Thai National Observatory signs along the route. The observatory is located at HFFJ+GWM, Ban Luang, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai 50160. There is no entrance fee to the observatory itself, but ensure you have paid the park entrance fee (around 300 THB for foreigners) when entering the national park.

Take a local songthaew (shared taxi) from Chom Thong to Doi Inthanon National Park. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Thai National Observatory. It is advisable to confirm the fare in advance; typically, it ranges from 30 to 50 THB per person. Please note that songthaews may not run frequently, so plan your trip accordingly and check the return schedule.
