Getting There

• Walking

  From the Kanchanaburi bus station, exit the bus terminal and head east on Phahonyothin Road for about 200 meters until you reach the intersection with Sangkhlaburi Road. Cross the street carefully and continue straight on Sangkhlaburi Road for approximately 1 kilometer. You will pass several local shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for local signage that may indicate directions to Ban Kao. After 1 kilometer, turn left onto Ban Kao Road and walk for another 1.5 kilometers. The museum will be on your left, with a sign indicating 'Ban Kao National Museum'.

• Tuk-Tuk

  Locate a tuk-tuk at the Kanchanaburi bus station. Inform the driver that you would like to go to Ban Kao National Museum. It's about a 15-20 minute ride. The driver will take you along Phahonyothin Road, turning onto Sangkhlaburi Road and then left onto Ban Kao Road. Ensure you have the address written down (หมู่ที่ 3 เลขที่164 Ban Kao, Mueang Kanchanaburi District) to show the driver. The museum is well-known, so they should be familiar with it.

• Motorbike Taxi

  Head to the motorbike taxi stand near Kanchanaburi bus station. Tell the driver your destination, Ban Kao National Museum. The ride should take approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey. Similar to the tuk-tuk, the driver will navigate through the main roads toward Ban Kao, so having the address handy can be helpful.

• Public Bus

  Take a local bus from Kanchanaburi bus station to Sai Yok National Park. You will need to ask the bus driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Ban Kao. The bus ride may take around 45 minutes. After getting off, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer down Ban Kao Road to reach the museum. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips to Kanchanaburi.
