Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Tenasserim Hills. Head south on Route 4019 towards Phipun District. Continue on this road for approximately 45 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Kam Lon. Follow the signs for Khao Luang, which will lead you to the parking area located at the base of the mountain. Be aware that the road may be winding and can be steep in some areas, so drive carefully.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, take a local bus from Tenasserim Hills to Phipun District. Buses departs at regular intervals from the main bus station and the fare is typically around 50-100 THB depending on the bus type. Once in Phipun District, hire a songthaew (shared taxi) to take you to Kam Lon. The fare for the songthaew is usually around 30-60 THB per person. Inform the driver that you are going to Khao Luang; they will know the route.

Walking/Hiking

If you choose to hike to Khao Luang after reaching Kam Lon, there are established trails leading up to the peak. Ensure you wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water. The hike can take anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on your pace. It is advisable to start early in the morning to avoid the heat and to enjoy the best views.
