To reach the Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge by car, start your journey from downtown Nassau. Head east on Bay Street (the main street along the waterfront) and continue straight. You will pass the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas on your left. Stay on Bay Street until you reach the junction with East Street. Turn left onto East Street, then follow it until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection with Tonique Williams-Darling Highway (also known as the ‘Carmichael Road’). Turn right and follow the highway. The bridge will be visible ahead as you approach it. There are signs that indicate the bridge entrance, and you can park in designated areas nearby.

To get to the Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge using public transportation, start by locating a bus stop in Nassau. Take a bus heading towards the eastern part of New Providence; look for routes that go towards the airport or the eastern parks. Ask the bus driver to let you know when you reach the Tonique Williams-Darling Highway. Once you get off, walk towards the bridge; it should be visible from the bus stop. Alternatively, you can take a jitney (local minibus) that travels specifically towards the airport or the east of the island, and ask the driver to drop you off at the bridge.
