Walking
Start at the Brikama Market, which is a central hub in Brikama. From the market, head south on the main road (Banjul - Brikama Highway) for about 1 km until you reach the junction that leads to the Kartong area. Turn right at the junction onto the road leading to Kartong. Continue straight for approximately 5 km until you reach Kartong village. Once in Kartong, ask locals for directions to 'The Birds Island'. It's a well-known spot, and they can guide you to the nearest point where you can take a boat to the island.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Brikama, preferably near the market area. Start your journey heading south on the Banjul - Brikama Highway. After about 1 km, make a right turn at the junction towards Kartong. Cycle along the road for around 5 km until you reach Kartong village. Once there, inquire with locals about the nearest boat launch that can take you to 'The Birds Island'.

Public Transport (Bush Taxi)
From Brikama, take a bush taxi (shared taxi) heading towards Kartong. You can find bush taxis lined up near the Brikama Market. The fare is usually affordable. Once you reach Kartong, get off at the main road junction. From there, ask locals for directions to 'The Birds Island' or for the nearest boat launch point. They will direct you to where you can find a boat that will take you to the island.
