Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from anywhere in Kanifing, head towards the Serrekunda area. Start by navigating to the main road, Kairaba Avenue. Continue heading west on Kairaba Avenue until you reach the intersection with the Bertil Harding Highway. Turn left onto Bertil Harding Highway. Continue on this road for approximately 2 kilometers. Look for signs pointing to Balafon Beach Resort. The resort will be on your right side, and you can enter directly from the highway.

• Public Transport (Gele-Gele)

  To reach Balafon Beach Resort using public transportation, you can take a 'Gele-Gele' shared taxi from any location in Kanifing. Head to the nearest Gele-Gele taxi stand and board a taxi heading to Serrekunda. The fare is usually around 10-20 GMD (Gambian Dalasi). Inform the driver that you are going to Balafon Beach Resort, and they will drop you off as close to the resort as possible. The resort is located approximately 1 kilometer from the main road, so you may need to walk a short distance.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, renting a bicycle is a great option. You can rent a bike from several locations in Kanifing. Once you have your bicycle, head toward the Kairaba Avenue, cycling westward. After reaching the intersection with Bertil Harding Highway, continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you see the signs for Balafon Beach Resort. There is a dedicated bike path along some parts of the route, making this an enjoyable ride.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are staying nearby, walking to Balafon Beach Resort is an option. Start by heading towards Kairaba Avenue and walk west until you reach Bertil Harding Highway. Once there, turn left and continue walking for about 2 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs for Balafon Beach Resort. While this may take some time and effort, you will be able to enjoy the local scenery along the way.
