Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the Brikama Highway (Banjul to Brikama road). Depending on your starting point in the Western Region, use a GPS or map app to navigate to the highway. Once you reach the Brikama Highway, continue heading towards Lamin. Abuko Nature Reserve is located on the Brikama Highway, approximately 10 kilometers from Banjul. Look for signs indicating the reserve, and watch for the entrance on your right side. There is no entrance fee to access the reserve.

Public Transportation (Bush Taxi)
To reach Abuko Nature Reserve via public transportation, look for a bush taxi heading towards Brikama. These bush taxis can be found in designated taxi parks within the Western Region. Once you board, inform the driver that you are going to Abuko Nature Reserve or ask them to drop you off at Lamin. The fare is typically around 20-30 dalasi (GMD). When you approach Lamin, request the driver to stop at the reserve entrance, which is on the Brikama Highway. After getting off, you may need to walk a short distance to the entrance of the reserve.
