Getting There

  • Car

    From the main entrance of Abuko Nature Reserve, head east on the main road towards Serrekunda. Continue straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction at the roundabout. Take the first exit at the roundabout onto the Banjul-Serekunda Highway (also known as the Banjul Road). After about 1 kilometer, you will see a sign for Saro's Tree Nursery & Ornamental Garden on your right. Turn right into the driveway and continue straight for another 300 meters until you reach the nursery.

  • Public Transportation

    From Abuko Nature Reserve, walk to the nearest bus station located outside the reserve. Look for a 'Geleh' or 'Gambia transport' minibus heading towards Serrekunda. The fare is usually around 10-20 dalasi, and the journey will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Serrekunda, ask the driver to drop you off near the junction to the Banjul-Serekunda Highway. From there, you can either walk approximately 500 meters following the directions above or hire a local taxi for a more comfortable ride, which should cost around 50-100 dalasi.
