Walking

From the center of Ermera, start at the local market. Head east on Rua de Mercado until you reach the main road, Avenida de Ermera. Turn right and continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction with Avenida Comandante Carrascalao. At this junction, turn left. Follow this road south for approximately 5 kilometers until you arrive at the town of Aileu. In Aileu, look for the local bus station where you can catch a bus heading to Dili. The bus ride will take around 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Dili, disembark at the last stop. From there, walk towards Avenida Portugal, which is a short distance away. Continue walking along Avenida Portugal until you reach Farol, located along the beach. The walk from the bus stop to Farol should take about 15-20 minutes.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Ermera. Start at the local market and head east on Rua de Mercado to Avenida de Ermera. Turn right onto Avenida de Ermera and cycle straight for about 2 kilometers. When you reach the junction with Avenida Comandante Carrascalao, turn left and continue cycling south for approximately 5 kilometers to Aileu. Once in Aileu, head to the bus station to catch a bus to Dili. After arriving in Dili, continue your ride along Avenida Portugal until you reach Farol. The entire journey may take around 3 to 4 hours, depending on your cycling speed and the time spent waiting for buses.

Public Transport (Bus)

From Ermera, take a local bus from the central bus station towards Dili. The buses run frequently, but it’s a good idea to check the schedule in advance. The bus ride will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Dili, get off at the main bus terminal. From the terminal, walk towards Avenida Portugal, which should be a 10-15 minute walk. Once you reach Avenida Portugal, head along the road until you arrive at Farol, located on the beach.
