Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the central market in Lomé (Grand Marché). From the market, head east along Avenue de la Réunification for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Boulevard du Mono. Turn left onto Boulevard du Mono and continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass various shops and local eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for local taxis and motorbikes; you may find one willing to take you closer to your destination if you prefer not to walk the entire distance. After 1.5 kilometers, turn right onto Rue de la Liberté. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the area of Baguida. Le Monument - Baguida will be on your left, identifiable by its distinctive structure and signage.

• Public Transport (Shared Taxi)

  From the central market in Lomé, you can take a shared taxi. Head to the designated taxi stand near the market and look for a taxi heading towards Baguida. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are going to Baguida. The fare should be around 300-500 CFA. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Upon reaching Baguida, ask the driver to drop you off near Le Monument, which is a well-known landmark in the area. If you’re unsure, you can always ask locals for directions once you arrive.

• Motorbike Taxi (Zemidjan)

  For a quicker option, consider using a motorbike taxi, known locally as 'zemidjan.' From the central market, find a motorbike taxi stand or simply flag one down by the roadside. Tell the driver you want to go to Le Monument - Baguida (you can show them the address: 587G+GFG, Lomé). The fare is usually between 500-1,000 CFA, and the ride typically takes about 10-15 minutes. Ensure you wear a helmet, which is provided by the driver. Upon arrival, the monument will be visible, making it easy for you to identify your destination.
