Getting There

  • Car

    To get to La Brea Pitch Lake from Aripo Caves by car, head south on the Eastern Main Road. Continue on this road until you reach the Churchill Roosevelt Highway. Take the Churchill Roosevelt Highway westbound until you reach the Uriah Butler Highway. Continue on the Uriah Butler Highway until you reach the Southern Main Road. Head south on the Southern Main Road until you reach La Brea. Follow signs to the Pitch Lake entrance.

    From Aripo Caves, take a taxi or local bus to the Arima transportation hub. From there, catch a bus heading towards San Fernando. Get off at La Brea and take a taxi to the entrance of the Pitch Lake.
