From Port of Spain, head to the main bus terminal known as the 'City Gate' located on the corner of the South Quay and St. Vincent Street. Look for buses heading to San Fernando or Siparia. Ensure you ask the driver if they stop at 'Brighton' or 'Pitch Lake'. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach the Brighton area, disembark at the nearest stop to Southern Main Rd and follow the road towards the lake.

At the City Gate bus terminal in Port of Spain, you can also find minibuses (commonly referred to as 'maxis') that travel to San Fernando. Board a minibus heading to San Fernando and inform the driver that you want to stop at Pitch Lake in Brighton. The trip will take approximately 1.5 hours. When you arrive in Brighton, ask the driver to let you off at the junction of Southern Main Rd, then walk towards the Pitch Lake.

Make your way to a main road or a taxi stand, and ask for a taxi to take you to Pitch Lake, located on Southern Main Rd in Brighton. The ride will take about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.
