Once you arrive in Lopinot, ask the driver or locals for directions to Cangrejal, as it’s a well-known hiking area in the region.

At any point in Tunapuna, you can hire a taxi. Look for a taxi stand or wave down a passing taxi. Tell the driver you want to go to Cangrejal in Lopinot, and they will take you directly to your destination. The fare may vary, but it typically ranges between TT$40 to TT$80 depending on your negotiation and the taxi service. The journey will take around 20-30 minutes.

If you are adventurous and enjoy walking, you can head towards Lopinot on foot. Start from Tunapuna and walk along the Eastern Main Road, heading towards Arima. After about 50 minutes, you will come across the Lopinot Road junction. Turn left onto Lopinot Road and continue walking straight. It may take you another 30 minutes to reach Cangrejal, but be cautious as this route does not have sidewalks in some areas.
