Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Walking
From the central area of Tunis (e.g., Avenue Habib Bourguiba), head towards the Medina. Walk towards the historic medina entrance at Bab el Bhar. Once you reach the entrance, you can explore the narrow streets of the Medina. Follow the signs or ask locals for 'Rue Sidi Ben Arous'. Continue straight until you reach 64 Rue Sidi Ben Arous, where Dar El Medina is located. It’s a short walk, approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace.
Public Transport - Metro
If you are near a metro station, take Line 1 or Line 2 to 'Tunis Marine' station. From there, exit the station and head towards the Medina. You can either walk or take a short taxi ride (ask for a ride to 'Rue Sidi Ben Arous'). If walking, follow the directions to Bab el Bhar, then navigate through the Medina to Rue Sidi Ben Arous. The total travel time should be around 30-40 minutes.
Public Transport - Bus
Find a local bus stop (look for 'Tunis' or 'Medina' routes). Take a bus heading towards the Medina area. Get off at the nearest stop to the Medina. From there, follow the signs to Rue Sidi Ben Arous, or ask locals for directions. The walk from the bus stop to Dar El Medina will take around 10-15 minutes, and the overall travel time will depend on bus schedules (approximately 30-50 minutes).
Use Dar El Medina as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
