Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the city center of Konya. Take the D330 highway heading towards Çumra. After approximately 30 kilometers, exit onto the Çatalhöyük Yolu road. Follow the signs for Çatalhöyük, which is about 10 kilometers down this road. You will arrive at the archaeological site, which is well-marked. Parking is available at the site, so you can easily access the entrance.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, head to the main bus terminal in Konya. Look for buses heading towards Çumra. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Çumra, you can take a local dolmuş (shared taxi) that runs frequently to Çatalhöyük. The dolmuş will drop you off near the entrance of the site. Ensure you check the bus and dolmuş schedules ahead of time to plan your visit accordingly.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Konya to Çatalhöyük. This option is more expensive but offers convenience, especially if you are traveling in a group. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes, and you can negotiate the fare before starting the journey. Make sure to confirm that the taxi driver knows the location of Çatalhöyük.
Walking from Dolmuş Stop
If you choose to take the dolmuş from Çumra, be prepared to walk about 1 kilometer from the drop-off point to the entrance of Çatalhöyük. Follow the signs along the Çatalhöyük Yolu road. The walk is straightforward and offers a chance to enjoy the surrounding landscape.
