If you are traveling by car from Thrace, head towards the O-3 highway (E80) from towns like Edirne or Tekirdağ. Follow the signs for İstanbul. After entering the city, take the exit toward Fatih and follow the signs to Sultanahmet. You will find parking facilities nearby, but be aware that parking can be limited and may incur fees ranging from 10 to 20 TL per hour. Once parked, Sultanahmet Square is within walking distance.
Public Transportation - Bus
For public transportation, take a bus from your current location in Thrace to İstanbul. Look for buses heading to the 'Eminönü' or 'Sultanahmet' terminals. Once you arrive in İstanbul, you can walk to Sultanahmet Square, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from Eminönü. Alternatively, you can take tram line T1 from Eminönü to Sultanahmet, which will cost around 15 TL and takes about 5 minutes.
Public Transportation - Train
If you are near Tekirdağ, you can take a train to İstanbul. The train station in Tekirdağ has services heading to Haydarpaşa Station in İstanbul. From Haydarpaşa, take a taxi to Sultanahmet, which will cost around 100 TL, or take the Marmaray train to Sirkeci, then transfer to tram line T1 to Sultanahmet. The entire journey may cost around 20 TL for the train and tram.
Taxi
If you prefer convenience, you can take a taxi directly from any location in Thrace to Sultanahmet Square. Ensure the driver uses the meter; the fare from Edirne to Sultanahmet can range from 400 to 600 TL, depending on traffic conditions. This option is comfortable but can be costly.
