To reach Funafuti from any location in Fongafale, start by heading towards the main road that runs parallel to the lagoon. If you're near the Tuvalu Maritime Training Institute, walk south along the main road (also known as the 'Fongafale Road') towards the center of the island. As you walk, you will pass several small shops and local residences. Continue straight until you reach the junction where the road splits. Take the right fork at the junction and continue walking. After about 10 minutes, you will see signs that indicate you are approaching the Funafuti atoll. Follow the pathway leading towards the lagoon; you will be able to see the stunning views of the water and local wildlife along the way.

If you have access to a bicycle, cycling is a great way to explore Fongafale. Begin at your accommodation and ride towards the main road. Keep to the left side of the road for safety. Cycle along the coast, enjoying the scenery, and head towards the southern tip of Fongafale. Continue cycling along the waterfront; it's a scenic route that leads directly to Funafuti, about a 20-minute ride from the center of Fongafale.
