Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Jinja in Eastern Region, take the Jinja-Kamuli Road (A-109) heading towards Kamuli. Continue on this road for about 50 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Kampala-Jinja Road (A-4). Turn right onto the A-4 and head northwest towards Kampala. After about 70 kilometers, take the exit towards Masindi on the A-109. Follow the A-109 for approximately 60 kilometers until you reach Masindi town. From Masindi, follow signs to Murchison Falls National Park. Continue for about 20 kilometers, and you will arrive at the entrance to Murchison Falls Park (MPP7+WGH). Note that there is an entrance fee of approximately $40 per person for foreign non-residents.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Jinja. Board a bus heading to Kampala. The journey will take about 2 hours. Upon arriving in Kampala, transfer to a bus that goes to Masindi (these buses frequently depart from the Kampala Bus Terminal). The bus ride to Masindi will take around 3 to 4 hours. Once you arrive in Masindi, look for a shared taxi or boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you to the entrance of Murchison Falls National Park, which is about 20 kilometers away. Expect to pay around 10,000 UGX for the taxi and about 25,000 UGX for the entrance fee into the park.
