    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the city of Jinja, which is approximately 90 kilometers away from Achwa River. Head north on the Jinja-Kamuli Road (A-109) until you reach the Kamuli Junction. Turn left onto the Kamuli-Mbulamuti Road. Continue on this road until you reach the junction with the A-104. Take a right turn onto the A-104 road, which will lead you towards the town of Gulu. After approximately 120 kilometers, you will arrive in Gulu. From Gulu, head west on the Gulu-Atiak Road (A-104) for about 25 kilometers. You will find signs pointing towards Achwa River. Follow these signs until you reach the river.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Achwa River by public transport, you can take a bus or taxi from Jinja to Gulu. Look for buses at the Jinja bus terminal that head to Gulu. The journey may take about 3-4 hours and will cost approximately 20,000 UGX. Once you arrive in Gulu, you can take a local taxi (bodaboda) or a shared taxi to reach Achwa River. Make sure to negotiate the fare with the driver; it should cost around 5,000 - 10,000 UGX for the short ride to the river.

  • Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

    If you prefer a faster option after arriving in Gulu, consider hiring a boda boda to take you directly to Achwa River.
