Car
If you're driving, head towards the main road in Queen Elizabeth National Park. From the park's main entrance, follow the road signs towards Katunguru. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the coordinates V36P+F9P. Look for the chimp tracking signage along the way which will guide you to the tracking start point.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a shared taxi or bus from nearby towns such as Kasese or Ishasha to Katunguru. Once you arrive at Katunguru, you may need to hire a local boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to the chimp tracking start point at coordinates V36P+F9P. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.
Walking
If you are staying nearby in accommodation within the park, you can also opt to walk to the chimp tracking starting point. Follow the main pathways that lead towards Katunguru. It's a scenic walk but be mindful of the time it takes to reach the destination, which can be around 1-2 hours depending on your starting point.
