Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Simferopol, the capital of Crimea. Take the A-290 road heading towards Bakhchisarai. Continue on the A-290 for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the town of Bakhchisarai. From Bakhchisarai, switch to the M-18 (also known as the Simferopol-Sevastopol highway) heading towards Sevastopol. After about 20 kilometers, take the exit towards Mazanka. Follow the signs to Mazanka, where you can find parking on the outskirts. The Volchiy Grot is a short hike from the parking area, so be prepared for a bit of walking.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, begin your journey at the Simferopol Bus Station. Look for buses heading towards Bakhchisarai; these run frequently throughout the day. After about an hour's travel, you will arrive in Bakhchisarai. From the Bakhchisarai bus station, you can catch a minibus (marshrutka) to Mazanka. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Mazanka, you can either walk to the Volchiy Grot, which is about a 20-minute hike, or ask locals for directions to the nearest parking area if you wish to drive.
Use Volchiy Grot as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
