Getting There

  • Walking

    From Constitution Square, head northwest towards the intersection of Klochkivska Street and Sumskaya Street. Walk straight along Klochkivska Street for about 600 meters. You will see the large monument of Taras Shevchenko on your right. Continue straight until you reach the large open space of Freedom Square (Svobody Square). The square is directly ahead, and you should see the iconic buildings surrounding it, including the Kharkiv National University.

  • Public Transportation (Metro)

    From Constitution Square, walk to the nearest metro station, which is 'Universytet' (University Station) on the Kharkiv Metro system. It's about a 10-minute walk. Once you reach the station, purchase a metro ticket (approximately 8 UAH). Take the metro toward 'Alekseyevskaya' and get off at 'Gosprom' station. From there, exit the station and walk approximately 200 meters to reach Freedom Square, which is visible as you exit the metro.

  • Public Transportation (Tram)

    Look for the nearest tram stop in Constitution Square. Board tram number 7 or 9 which goes towards Freedom Square. The fare for a tram ride is around 5 UAH. Ride for about 4 stops and get off at 'Svobody Square' stop. Once you disembark, you will find yourself at the edge of Freedom Square, allowing you to explore the area.
