Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Svobody Square, head towards the main road that leads east. You will see the main entrance of the square with its large open space. Walk straight towards the large fountain located at the end of the square. Once you reach the fountain, continue walking east for about 200 meters until you reach the intersection with the main road (Sumskaya Street). Cross the street at the pedestrian crossing, and you will see the iconic buildings surrounding Freedom Square.

  • Public Transport - Tram

    If you prefer a quicker route, you can take tram number 5 from the tram stop located just south of Svobody Square. Board the tram heading towards the 'Zavod im. Malysheva' direction. The ride is about 5 minutes. Get off at the 'Freedom Square' stop. Once you exit, you will be just a short walk away from the main attractions in Freedom Square.

  • Public Transport - Metro

    Another option is to take the metro. From Svobody Square, walk to the nearest metro station, which is 'Universytet' (approximately a 10-minute walk). Once at the station, take the metro on the 'Red Line' towards 'Hoholia' and get off at 'Pushkinska' station (1 stop). Exit the station and you will find yourself close to the Southern part of Freedom Square. Follow the signs and walking paths to reach the square directly.
