Hi, I'm Eve. Here are a few practical things to know before exploring Wadi Barut.
Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are driving from central Hajar Mountains locations like Al Hajar Mountain Resort, head north on the E611 highway towards Ras Al Khaimah. Continue on the E611 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the exit for Wadi Barut, marked by a sign. Take the exit and follow the signs directing you towards Wadi Barut. You will eventually be on a smaller road leading directly into the wadi area. Please note that the last stretch may be unpaved, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended. GPS coordinates for Wadi Barut are approximately 25.97115 latitude and 56.15350 longitude.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start at the nearest major bus station in Ras Al Khaimah. Look for buses heading to the Hajar Mountains area. Confirm with the driver or station staff that the bus stops near Wadi Barut or the closest point. Once you arrive at your stop, you may need to arrange for a taxi or local ride-share service to take you the remaining distance to Wadi Barut, as public transport does not typically reach the wadi directly. Expect to pay approximately 20-30 AED for the taxi fare.
Taxi or Ride-Share
If you are already in Ras Al Khaimah or nearby, you can easily book a taxi or use a ride-sharing app like Careem. Enter 'Wadi Barut' as your destination, and the driver will take you directly to the wadi. The fare will depend on your starting location but typically ranges from 50-100 AED. Confirm with the driver that they are familiar with the location, as it may not be a common stop.
