This project carefully balanced heritage conservation with modern needs, restoring Victorian features such as railings and arches while introducing accessible pathways, terracing, and new landscaping. Three elegant pavilion structures, inspired by historic city trams, now house a café, restaurant, and wine bar, activating the space year-round. Enhanced lighting and event spaces have transformed the gardens into a welcoming, vibrant civic hub.

The revitalized Union Terrace Gardens has been widely acclaimed, winning the 2025 Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award. The project is celebrated for its architectural integrity, sensitive restoration, and creation of an inclusive public realm.
