If you are driving, head towards Lairg from any location in Caithness. From Lairg, take the A836 heading towards Tongue. After about 10 miles, turn left onto the B9176. Continue on this road for approximately 2 miles until you reach the sign for Ardvreck Castle. Follow the signs, and you will find the parking area close to the castle. Ensure you have change for parking, as there may be a small fee.

To reach Ardvreck Castle via public transport, take a bus from Thurso or Wick to Lairg. You can check the local bus schedules with Stagecoach or other local services. Once in Lairg, you can either walk or take a taxi to Ardvreck Castle via the B9176 as described above. The taxi ride from Lairg to Ardvreck Castle will take around 10 minutes and should cost approximately £10-£15.

Walking from bus stop
If you arrive at Lairg by bus, you can walk to Ardvreck Castle. The distance is about 2 miles (approximately 30-40 minutes on foot). Exit the bus station and head south towards the A836. Turn left onto the A836 and follow it until you reach the junction for the B9176. Turn left onto the B9176 and follow the signs to Ardvreck Castle. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
