Travel Guide to Roald Dahl Plass

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from Cardiff Central Station, exit the station and head straight onto Penarth Road. Walk straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the first exit onto the A4160 (Dumfries Place). Continue straight for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach a large roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A470 (North Road) and keep walking until you arrive at the next roundabout. From there, take the first exit onto the A4054 (Cowbridge Road East). Continue walking for another 0.5 miles until you see the entrance to Cardiff Bay on your right. Walk through the entrance and follow the signs leading to Roald Dahl Plass, which is located in the heart of Cardiff Bay.

• Bus

  From Cardiff Central Station, walk to the bus stop located just outside the station. Take the Cardiff Bus service number 6, 8, or 9 towards Cardiff Bay. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Cardiff Bay' stop and walk towards the waterfront. Roald Dahl Plass is a short walk away, directly in front of you as you approach the bay area.

• Train

  From Cardiff Central Station, take the train towards Cardiff Bay Station. The ride is approximately 10 minutes. Once you arrive at Cardiff Bay Station, exit the station and turn left. Walk towards the waterfront and follow the signs to Roald Dahl Plass, which will be straight ahead.

• Cycling

  If you have a bicycle, you can cycle from Cardiff Central Station. Exit the station and head southwest on Penarth Road. Follow the signs to Cardiff Bay, cycling along the waterfront. Roald Dahl Plass will be located in front of you as you reach the bay area, and there are bike racks available for parking.
