Getting There

    From Ambleside, drive towards Rydal on the A591. After approximately 2 miles, look for the signs for Rydal Mount and Rydal Cave. Turn onto the B5286 and follow the road to Rydal. There is a small parking area near the cave entrance (please be aware that parking may have a small fee, typically around ÂŁ2 for a few hours). After parking, follow the footpath signs leading to Rydal Cave, which is a short walk from the parking area.

    Take a bus from Ambleside to Grasmere on the 555 route which runs frequently. Get off at the Rydal stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes.
