Walking
If you're starting from the city center, head southeast on Princes Street towards North Bridge. Cross North Bridge and continue straight onto the Canongate. Walk along Canongate until you reach the entrance to Holyrood Palace. Holyrood Abbey is located within the grounds of the Palace. The total distance is approximately 1 mile and will take around 20 minutes.

Public Transport - Bus
From the city center, catch a bus from the Princes Street bus stop (look for buses heading towards 'Holyrood'). Take either the Lothian Bus number 35 or any bus that stops at 'Holyrood Palace'. The journey will take around 10-15 minutes. Once you get off at the stop, you will see Holyrood Palace directly ahead, and Holyrood Abbey is within the grounds.

Public Transport - Tram
Take the tram from the city center (York Place or St Andrew Square tram stops) heading towards 'Newhaven'. Get off at the 'York Place' stop and transfer to a bus heading towards 'Holyrood'. The entire journey by tram and bus will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Holyrood, the Abbey is located within the Palace grounds.
